WorkInRetail.com was launched in 2008 by CareerBuilder.com to connect retail employers with job seekers. Within months of its launch, 150 leading retailers, such as Circuit City, Levi’s, Forever 21, had posted thousands of jobs on the new site.

Once you complete your profile, you can upload a resume and cover letter, or create them online, search for jobs and, incidentally, allow the site’s My Recommended Job feature to recommend jobs based on your searches, profile and resume.

You can also use services like the Salary Calculator and the Free Career Test; you can find their links at the bottom of the Home page.

  • Search for a position
    You can look for jobs in WorkInRetail.com in a number of ways.

    Once you sign in, the Home page shows a number of Recommended Jobs customized for you, or you can link to an employer in the Featured Employers (e.g., AT&T, Harbor Freight Tools) area to see their current vacant positions. At the bottom of the page, you can also click a job type (Cashier Jobs, Barista Jobs, Store Manager Jobs) to see what’s available.

    For a more traditional search approach, click the Search Jobs tab, type job keywords and your location, filter your choice by such categories as Company and Pay Range.

    You can save your search, which will be forwarded to your email with new jobs that come up, based on the frequency you select.

  • Apply for a position

    Select the position you’re interested in and click apply to submit your application to the poster.

    This is a resource-rich site for employers and recruiters. The site has the usual job posting and resume searching tools, and also a variety of free Account Tools that include:
